Universal Negativity

Universal Negativity: No One Is Escaping the Energy of Our Time

There are periods in history when negativity seems to move beyond the problems of one individual, one family, or even one country. It becomes universal. I believe we are living through one of those periods now.

Universal negativity does not affect everyone in exactly the same way. For one person, it may manifest as financial hardship. For another, it may appear as anger, depression, frustration, loneliness, fear, relationship problems, or simply the feeling that something is wrong and they cannot put their finger on what it is.

Some people feel exhausted even though they are sleeping. Others have become unusually angry or impatient. Some are losing hope. Others are watching businesses struggle, relationships fall apart, opportunities disappear, and money simply does not stretch as far as it once did.

No matter what side of the political coin you fall on, you are still being impacted.

You may support the current administration. You may absolutely despise it. You may be somewhere in the middle and simply want to live your life without politics consuming every waking moment. It does not matter. The atmosphere being created around us reaches everyone.

The current administration has brought an enormous amount of conflict, uncertainty, division, and fear into the public consciousness. Trade disputes, tariffs, political battles, immigration fights, international conflicts, and constant uncertainty about what comes next have created an environment where people rarely feel that the ground beneath their feet is completely stable. Recent economic reporting has documented continued uncertainty surrounding tariffs, inflation, household purchasing power, trade, and the cost of living.

Even many people who support those currently in power are finding themselves in a deep, dark space.

Why?

Because supporting a political administration does not make you immune to the atmosphere surrounding it. You still have to buy groceries. You still have to pay your electric bill. You still have to put gasoline in your vehicle. You still have to worry about your job, your business, your retirement, your family, and what tomorrow is going to bring.

Negative energy does not ask how you voted before entering your life.

The Global Economic Crisis Is Feeding the Negativity

This is not limited to the United States.

The global economy is under tremendous pressure. The International Monetary Fund projected global growth of only 3.0 percent for 2026, while warning of economic weakness and uncertainty. Trade disruptions, geopolitical conflicts, energy prices, inflation, and changing government policies are affecting economies around the world.

When millions of people are simultaneously worried about money, employment, war, politics, housing, food prices, and their children's futures, that fear does not simply disappear.

It accumulates.

From a spiritual perspective, I believe human beings create and absorb energy constantly. Imagine billions of people projecting fear, anger, resentment, desperation, and uncertainty into the world every single day.

That energy has to go somewhere.

Some people absorb more of it than others. Sensitive individuals may feel overwhelmed without understanding why. You may wake up angry when nothing has happened. You may suddenly become discouraged about something you were optimistic about yesterday. Your home may feel heavy. Your motivation may disappear. You may begin arguing with people you love over insignificant things.

This is how universal negativity becomes personal negativity.

You Must Protect Your Energy

This is precisely why spiritual protection, cleansing, grounding, meditation, prayer, ritual work, and taking control of the atmosphere within your own home have become so important.

You cannot personally control Washington. You cannot control Wall Street. You cannot control international conflicts, tariffs, inflation, or what another country decides to do tomorrow.

But you can fight to control what you allow to take root inside of you.

Turn off the television sometimes. Put the telephone down. Stop allowing political anger to occupy your mind from the moment you wake up until the moment you go to sleep. Cleanse your home. Light your candles. Pray. Meditate. Spend time outside. Reconnect with the Goddess and God. Ground yourself in the Earth beneath your feet.

Most importantly, recognize when the darkness you are feeling may not have originated entirely within you.

The world is carrying an extraordinary amount of negativity right now, and every one of us is walking through it differently.

Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative, wealthy, poor, religious, spiritual, or somewhere in between, none of us lives inside a protective bubble.

The negativity surrounding our world does not care which side of the coin you fall on.

It touches everyone. The difference is how deeply we allow it to enter us, and what we choose to do once we recognize that it is there.

Blessed be,
Phelan
